Condensate and Steam Purity    A large southeastern utility was concerned about its inability to control condensate and steam purity. Water chemistry related problems were affecting the power plants availability, operational maintenance costs and heat transfer rates. Waltron was called in to develop a centralized measuring, recording, and control package for water and steam samples. We designed, engineered, and manufactured a comprehensive analytical system assuring plant operating personnel that the plants chemical limits are met and that the source of contaminants introduced is recognized immediately. Water chemistry problems in the plant are now detected
by following trends of various chemical parameters. As a result, appropriate measures are taken before problems occur.

Special Flow Indicator    A major supplier of gauges and sight glasses to the power and process industries required a special flow indicator for its product line. Waltron designed and produced the complete unit including the body casting, rotating internal components, and other metal parts and seals.

Water Chemistry Program    The operators of a government owned nuclear power plant obtained approval to transfer responsibility for day-to-day-operation of the water chemistry program from outside consultants to the plants reactor operators. Our firm was selected to train the operators and supervise the water chemistry program. Subsequently, we trained plant supervisors to oversee the program.  We had sole authorization to examine qualifications and issue certification for all operators and supervisors participating in the water chemistry program.
