Wake up in the AM, chalk outlines hit the pavement,
Momma said “Baby, keep faith,” but the sirens keep blavin’.
Candy-painted hopes peel off when the gauge spin,
One time behind us, everybody start sprintin’.
Swimming in red & blue, baptism by flash-light,
Angels wear Kevlar, praying on the gas-pipe.
If I die tonight, paint my mural in neon—
Let the colors scream the dream that the cops couldn’t pee on.
